The Continuum Team grows in Derbyshire

Welcoming Jamie Lavery,  Chartered Financial Planner

Award-winning financial advisory firm Continuum has grown again, this time by welcoming a new Chartered Financial Planner serving clients across Derbyshire.

Jamie Lavery is based in Derby and looking forward to extending his already impressive record as an IFA, by meeting and helping new clients find better answers to their financial challenges as part of the Continuum team.

Jamie is highly qualified, with an MA in International Business & Management as well as an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS).

It is a background – coupled with his 16 years’ experience in wealth management working closely with families, business owners and professionals – which allows him to deliver truly holistic financial planning solutions.

“Long term planning is important for everyone’s finances.  I’ve been working with many of my clients for 10 years or more. I’m looking forward to building many more long term relationships with the support of Continuum.”

High net worth families and business owners

Jamie has extensive experience in delivering advice and servicing to high net worth families and business owners, specialising in areas including IHT mitigation, estate planning, tax planning and business protection. This typically involves working closely with other trusted professionals such as accountants, solicitors and tax advisors.

Jamie explains the process he takes clients through.

“We start by getting to know each other. This is important to build up trust and to let me properly understand the needs and circumstances of the people I work with.

Everyone is different – everyone has their own life goals and ambitions. It is my job to help them find the best route to reach them.

By focusing on what’s really important we take individuals and businesses through a process of discovery to clearly define planning objectives. It is only by understanding where clients are and where they wish to go that we can provide guidance and advice on the achievement of goals delivered through an evolving long term strategy.

This evolutionary approach is vital. The world we live in is changing fast – the financial plans we all make must adapt with it.”

The Continuum approach

Jamie explains that there were several reasons to become part of the nationwide Continuum team.

The first is the fact that Continuum is truly independent.

“Being able to select the most suitable financial products from the entire market means that I can concentrate on finding the optimum answers to the needs of my clients. That is essential for my approach – and for their financial outlooks.”

He also cites the Continuum approach.

“Continuum have the perfect 5 stage advice process. It ensures not only that we capture all the information required to formulate a personalised strategy, but that we populate it with the most appropriate solutions.  The process does not stop there of course. It involves keeping that strategy under regular review to ensure ongoing suitability is taking account of evolving circumstances and objectives.”

“Working with Continuum lets me provide truly independent and holistic advice tailored to the achievement of personal goals”.

Plus of course, there is the support he enjoys as part of a highly professional organisation.

“The centralised administrative and compliance teams are an invaluable resource, meaning I can focus on establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and professional connections”.

“I joined Continuum because they share my mission of delivering great client outcomes based on the fundamentals of quality, value and trust”.

Solutions for pensions, inheritance and wealth

Jamie will be providing the full range of financial advisory services but he has some specialist areas of expertise which he is keen to use.  His knowledge of pensions, inheritance tax planning and the needs of high net worth individuals and business owners are all particular strengths which he is keen to employ for the benefit of clients.

Continuum’s Managing Partner Martin Brown has already welcomed Jamie to the team. “Our commitment has always been to offer clients the most suitable solutions and the highest standards of advice. Jamie appreciates the importance of working in close partnership with clients to understand what’s really important, both personally and financially, in order to inform the planning process and forge long lasting working relationships.

He shares our approach of putting clients’ needs first, whatever we do.”

Jamie is looking forward to meeting new clients across the central Derbyshire area.
