In 2020 we sponsored Team Commando Spirit, four Royal Marines Commandos planning to row the Atlantic Ocean. Their mission was to raise £100,000 for Rock 2 Recovery and The Royal Marines Charity to support veterans and comrades struggling with mental health issues caused by the transition from a service to civilian life.
Known as the world’s toughest row, they planned to set off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands on 12th December to row 3000 miles to Antigua. Team Commando were taking part to win and training to set a new world record, achieving maximum coverage for our charities and sponsors.
We are proud sponsors of Sports Parkinson, a charity which has focused its work on bringing both the community and the herculean efforts of those who have put together – classes, courses, leagues and any opportunities to enrich and increase the activity, and tackle loneliness and depression in Parkinson’s.
Also to raise money to assist in the removal of boundaries – to buy something as simple as a pair of trainers, or as important as a long held ambition to climb a tree.

Andrew Horne, one of our team of Independent Financial Advisers, is undertaking a three day charity cycle ride (153 miles) coast to coast from Seascale to Whitby with four university friends (25 years ago!) to raise fund for Harpenden Spotlight on Africa (HSoA) and with particular emphasis towards a project of building a maternity centre which will cost £132,000. Andrew and his friends are aiming to raise £3000 on their cycle ride.
