Award-winning financial advisory firm Continuum has grown again and welcomed another new adviser to its team.
Jack Wraithmell is a financial adviser with several years’ experience and will be working in and around his Fareham home and the areas surrounding Portsmouth & Southampton.
“I proudly served 6 years in the Armed Forces as a Military Police Officer in the Army. It’s a background that instilled integrity & discipline in me; values I think translate so well into being a trusted Financial Adviser.
Jack Wraithmell, Independent Financial Adviser
People come to me with their financial goals and aspirations, and I get to help them develop a strategy to help make it a reality.”
Tailored wealth protection and personal financial security
Jack is married with two young children, Maximus and Lorelei (twins), and knows the kind of challenges his clients face. It has prompted him to specialise in protection, investment and wealth planning, which he sees as all essential for financial security.
“Success and security can’t be taken for granted. They have to be carefully prepared for.
That’s why I believe financial planning is so important. Investments & pensions build wealth, but protection is essential, it is the safety net for people and their families.
My job is to ensure that they have the financial arrangements they can depend on, and not just with off the shelf solutions. These arrangements need to be tailored to the individual.”
“It has to be a personal service. I like to take the time to get to know people, before I start to suggest financial solutions and long-term strategies. I have to know their plans, hopes and needs before I can find answers to them”
Whole of market financial planning without restrictions
What prompted Jack to come to Continuum? Jack explains that one of the main Continuum advantages is independence.
“Working with some organisations can mean restrictions on what I can offer my clients.
That’s a compromise for them and for me. With Continuum there are no restrictions I have independence and I certainly don’t have any pressure on me to push the products of a particular supplier. That means I can give completely honest advice, call on the very latest products from across the industry, and search the entire financial market to find the products which are appropriate to the client’s needs.
I can always develop the most suitable solution – and that’s important because I want to work with clients for the long haul.”
Jack explains that for him, meeting a client is the first step to building a relationship which should last for years.
“I’ve found that people want reassurance and support from their adviser, not simply a set of financial products. I believe in staying in touch. People’s situations change as they go through life. That means their financial plans have to change too. They need reassurance and support.
That is obviously easier if they know they have someone they can call on whenever they need”
Combining local Hampshire care with a nationwide financial services firm
Jack also points to the resources Continuum offers, which support both his work and his clients.
“Having a team of like-minded professionals to assist in some of the administration aspects of the role leaves me with more time to spend with my clients. I also see great value in the facilities they provide, such as access to the online portal, Perks@Work and the weekly education & news updates. Its about adding as much value as we can for our clients.”
Specialist investment, pension, and tax planning expertise
Jack is looking forward to providing a full range of options, but with a focus on investment and pension planning – including tax planning and protection. The need for intergenerational wealth transfer is growing, and he is talking to an increasing number of people about passing wealth on to loved ones rather than the taxman.
Welcoming Jack Wraithmell to the Continuum team
Continuum’s Managing Partner Martin Brown is keen to welcome Jack to the team.
“Jack has some particularly valuable expertise in pensions, investments, and general wealth planning. We know that there is an increasing demand for his skills, with many more people wanting to make the right decisions early on to ensure they can look forward to a more comfortable future.”
“Jack will be helping us, and our clients make the right preparations for financial security before and after retirement.”

The value of an investment can go down as well as up. Capital is at risk. A lifetime mortgage is a loan secured against your home. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration.
Equity Release will reduce the value of your estate and may affect your entitlement to means tested benefits.
Your home or property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate taxation advice or estate planning and some aspects of Buy to Let mortgages.
A pension is a long-term investment; the fund value can go down as well as up and this can impact the level of pension benefits available. Pension Income could also be affected by interest rates at the time benefits are taken. Pension savings are at risk of being eroded by inflation.
