Continuum expands its North East presence
Welcoming Stephen Straker DipFA to the Newcastle team.
The Continuum team provides expertise across the UK, but its strength is firmly based on a local presence and professionals with local knowledge and dedication.
Now the team has been further strengthened in Newcastle.
Stephen Straker has joined the team in his native Tyneside. He brings some valuable qualifications as well as a wealth of experience to the role โ and a very real commitment to supporting the community.
โI am a season ticket holder at Newcastle United and I enjoy volunteering in my local community to help make a difference where I can. I used to be a Special Constable - which was a great way of learning more about myself as a person and the community I live in. Volunteering and helping others gives me a buzz, and it is the same feeling I get when I help clients with my financial advice. I know the help I give clients has put them in a better position than they were before I met them. Some may see the benefit of my advice immediately with tax saving. Others, looking at protection or pension planning may not see the benefit for years, but the important thing is that they can be confident they have the solutions they need and the most effective products in place.โ
Stephen has worked in financial services for more than 20 years since leaving education and tackled various roles including compliance and paraplanning before gaining impressive qualifications as an adviser.
โHaving a good grounding across the financial sector is a plus for me โ and for my clients. But just as important are formal qualifications. It means that when I talk to clients, they can feel confident in the advice I provide.โ
Naturally, Stephen has a Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) as the basis for his career as an advisor.
โSo often clients receive complicated advice. I believe in keeping things simple, uncomplicated but effective.โ
Why has Stephen joined the Continuum team?
He explains that having the support of Continuum means better answers for customers as well as a way of working that suits his own approach.
โWorking with Continuum will enable me to offer clients exceptional service and a lifetime relationship with my clients. My aim is to ensure that every client is left in a better financial position as a result of any interaction with me. I had made the decision to take control over my career โ to be independent โ because it means a better way of working for me as well as better results for my clients. To do that I needed to partner with a company that was truly independent, with no bias towards any products or providers. It was clear very early on that Continuum was the best place for this to happen.โ
โWe have a 3 way partnership between the client, myself as their adviser and Continuum with the client being at the heart of that partnership. We only succeed when the client succeeds.โ
Continuumโs Managing Partner Martin Brown is delighted to welcome Stephen to the Continuum team.
โOur commitment has always been to giving clients the very best solutions to the challenges they face. Stephen has an approach that is the perfect match for that commitment.
His decision to join our Newcastle team is good news for us โ and for the people he will be working with in the future.โ
Stephen is looking forward to meeting new clients and putting his expertise to work. If you live or work in the Newcastle area and have financial questions, please contact him for a free initial consultation at stephen@mycontinuum.co.uk or call 07525 641600.
