Award-winning financial advisory firm Continuum has grown again and welcomed another highly experienced professional to its UK-wide team.

Continuum covers the country, providing bespoke solutions for all types of wealth management needs, but our latest appointment, David Swaby, will be working directly with clients in and around his native East Yorkshire. Bringing prominent credentials as an independent financial adviser in Hull, David is deeply passionate about helping local individuals and families navigate their wealth journeys, offering tailored guidance to turn long-term lifestyle objectives into absolute financial realities.

What skills and knowledge will he bring to clients?

“I enjoy helping people in all aspects of their financial affairs and I’m often told it shows through my enthusiasm and dedication to my client’s best interests. I also live by my own advice and advise friends and family members alike; I tend to be the ‘go to’ person for all things financial from everyone I know. You could call me a financial enthusiast – because I really enjoy helping people find the financial solutions they need.

“We live in a complicated world, and having suitable financial solutions in place is vital for everyone. Mortgage, pension, investments protection – we all have our own individual needs and goals. That means we all need individual solutions.

My job as a financial adviser is finding the most appropriate solutions – which means the ones that will make those goals easier to reach”

Elite professional qualifications and regional banking heritage

David has a wealth of experience, having spent almost 7 years at Skipton Building Society as a Senior Financial Adviser and 7 years prior to that at HSBC in various roles including 4 years as a Mortgage and Protection adviser. He worked across Hull and East Yorkshire where he lives, as well as Scarborough and the surrounding area.

Having established his skills – and picked up professional qualifications as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society he made the decision to join Continuum.

Whole of market freedom and uncompromised client outcomes

“I decided to join Continuum after extensive due diligence reviewing over 14 different firms / networks. I wanted to move forward in my career and become independent to ensure two things –  first, my own longevity in the role. Continuum is not only sat on a sound foundation – it is growing and moving forward.

Secondly, I wanted to be sure that I would never be limited in the advice and service I can give to the clients I deal with. Continuum is independent – that means as an Independent Financial Adviser I can select the solution that is appropriate for a particular client from across the entire market. I’m not tied in to a particular financial supplier, as I might be with some advisory teams. I can select suitable products for the needs of each client.”

“This independence means a better outcome for clients – with better solutions to their needs now and in the future.”

Merging regional Yorkshire care with a nationwide financial services firm

Working with Continuum means I can service the clients in the way that I feel suits them with their ongoing needs long term without restriction. I spend less time on admin – because Continuum have a support team. That means I can spend more time where it counts – with clients and in developing solutions to their needs.

“Continuum is a collection of established professionals coming together and pooling their experience to create a new brand of financial advice, one that ensures the client is at the centre of everything we do.”

Welcoming David Swaby to the Continuum network

Continuum’s Managing Partner Martin Brown is pleased to have David joining the team.

“When you choose Continuum, you enter into a business relationship with an adviser, not a business transaction with a sales person. Our advice proposition is one of simplicity and clarity, delivered by a trusted and professional adviser.

Martin Brown, Managing Partner

David echoes our approach. His enthusiasm, his expertise and professionalism and his determination to put the needs of his clients first echoes our own, and ensure that he is   a perfect fit for the Continuum team.
