Continuum adds to Newcastle financial planning team as expansion in North East gains pace

Plymouth (15/11/22) – Stephen Straker has joined national IFA firm Continuum as a Financial Planner based in Newcastle.

Stephen will work with both personal and business clients and brings a wealth of experience to the role, as well as a very real commitment to supporting the community.

Previous roles include six years as a Financial Planner at Punter Southall, two years as Head of Paraplanning at Ellis Bates Financial Advisers, and early career roles in compliance.

He has a Diploma in Financial Planning , and specialises in financial planning, wealth management, retirement and estate planning.

Stephen chose to join the Continuum partnership to provide better outcomes for customers and was impressed with the strong culture within the business.

He said: “Working with Continuum will enable me to offer my clients exceptional service and a lifetime relationship. My aim is to ensure that every client is left in a better financial position as a result of any interaction with myself and Continuum.

“I had made the decision to take control over my career – to be independent – because it means a better way of working for me as well as aiming for better results for my clients. To do that I needed to partner with a company that is independent, with no bias towards any products or providers. It was clear very early on that Continuum was the best place for this to happen.”

Martin Brown, Managing Partner at Continuum, said the addition of Stephen to the Continuum team has underpinned the national IFA firm’s ambition to strengthen its presence in the North-East, following the recent appoint of another North-Eastern adviser, Stephanie McClarence.

He said: “We are extremely pleased to have Stephen join the Continuum team.

“Our commitment has always been to giving clients the most suitable solutions for the financial challenges they face. Stephen has an approach that is the perfect match for that commitment.

“His decision to join our Partnership is great news for us – and for the people he will be working with in the future.”

Stephen’s appointment comes after assets under influence for Continuum rose a further 9% year-on-year to £1.53bn at the end of Q3.

Continuum also saw a 23% rise in ongoing recurring income (year-on-year) and a 12% rise in average adviser 12-month rolling productivity (year-on-year).
