Britain has been in political turmoil ever since we as a country narrowly voted to leave the EU three years ago. The problem is that there seems to be no way to agree on exactly how leaving can be accomplished. It has led Prime Minister Theresa May to formally resign today. She will continue as interim PM until a new Tory leader is chosen, and finally leave office in July.

With the State visit due next week as the last official appointment of Theresa May as PM, we look at how the US economy is fairing under President Trump’s policies.On the face of it, Donald Trump has been good for the US economy. The leading economic indicators suggest that the economy is doing well. It has steady rather than spectacular growth, with 3.2% annualised GDP growth in the first quarter of this year, more manufacturing and farming jobs, with unemployment just 3.6% in April and inflation running at a mere 2%.

Brexit now seems to be on the back burner, and it is unclear when, how and even if it will happen, three years after the vote to leave the EU. Naturally, this uncertainty has influenced the economy – but as we have come to expect, effects caused by Brexit tend to be anything but predictable.
