Welcoming Michael Kirkwood DipPFS and launching our service in Belfast
Award winning financial advisory firm Continuum has made a major step forward and is bringing its services to Northern Ireland.
Key to this important development is the appointment of the latest member of the Continuum team, Michael Kirkwood.
Michael is based in Belfast and already has over 30 years of experience helping the people of his native Northern Ireland and beyond find answers to their financial questions. He is looking forward to working with his existing clients and meeting and helping many new people as part of the Continuum team.
Michael is highly qualified, with a Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) as well as an honours degree from Belfast University. He also has ISO 22222 certification, making him one of a small number of advisers who hold this globally agreed benchmark for information, skills, experience and ethical values. But it is his wealth of experience gained with the needs of local people that are key to the service he sets out to provide.
“Everyone is an individual, and I’ve found that everyone needs financial solutions suited to them. I have to provide a personalised service.”
Individual service – with the support of a nationwide team
It is the ability to continue to provide this individual service that prompted Michael to make the decision to become part of the Continuum team.
“Continuum is a growing team, but they remain independent. This means that the help and advice that I provide can be independent too. There is no question of being tied into products from a particular financial provider. I’m free to recommend everything – pensions, insurance, investments – from any provider. The only factors I need to consider is the best interests of my client.
I am very happy to have found Continuum as it offers everything I need to help me provide good consistent outcomes for my clients. The levels of support for me are excellent and this allows more time to concentrate on meeting clients and discussing possible solutions with them.”
“With a long history of working with business owners and professionals, retirees and young families, I know what is needed to help individuals realise what they want to achieve and structure their finances to help them to do just that.”
A focus on business
Michael will be providing a full spectrum of advice, but he has particular experience with wealthy clients and with businesses.
“Over the last few years, my focus has been working mainly with business owner clients, helping them to structure their finances to meet their life’s aims and objectives. For business owners there is often a direct link between the success of their company and their personal wealth. Helping them to think about processes such as removing wealth from their business, and eventually exiting the business entirely, is a common part of my daily client discussions.”
A warm welcome
Continuum’s Managing Partner Martin Brown is particularly pleased to welcome Michael’s help in extending the Continuum service into Northern Ireland.
“We have set out to provide the very highest standards of financial advice, and Michael can help us ensure that we do it in what is a new and important location for us. Continuum is a partnership of like-minded Financial Advisers sharing a common passion, approach and commitment to practicing true financial planning. I know that Michael shares these values, and with his combination of qualifications and experience he is a valuable addition to our growing team.
We believe that by creating a 3-way partnership between Continuum, the adviser and the client, we also create an environment where each party can only succeed and grow if the other parties also succeed and grow.
I know that Michael is looking forward to demonstrating that approach to people across Northern Ireland’’. Michael is looking forward to meeting new clients. If you live or work in Northern Ireland, and beyond, please contact him for a free initial consultation.
